The first day of E3, there were a lot of new games announced. Sony and Nintendo held their press conferences and the exhibition was finally open. Time to summarize all information from the first day.
Nintendo Press Conference
* Nintendo held its press conference today. Two new Mario games for the Wii announced. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the direct sequel to one of the best games of 2007 and now includes Yoshi. A trailer got released showed below. New Super Mario Bros. It can be played up to four playes and will offer a trusted two-dimensional platform action. Below is the first trailers to see.

* Team Ninja is gonna make in cooperation with Nintendo a new part in the Metroid series. Metroid: Other M seems to be a shooter in third person perspective and various gameplay elements seem to correspond to that of Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden series. Watch the trailer below. Moreover, the Metroid Prime Trilogy is also announced for Europe. The collection is available on September 4 to the Wii.

* Nintendo is coming with a sequel to Wii Fit. Wii Fit Plus offers a total of six new strength' activities and a possibility of the game to track how many calories you've burned.
* Nintendo also announced a new accessory for the Wii: the Vitality Sensor.De accessory to the Wiimote to connect and measure your heart rate. However, there has been shown concrete examples of how the device is used in games.
* The Nintendo DS will get some new games. One of them is Mario vs. Donkey Kong 3: Minis March Again. The game let you design levels and share with others. In addition, Golden Sun coming to DS. This 3D RPG will appear in 2010. Ubisoft will also try to match the success of Grand Theft Auto with C.O.P The Recruit. * Nintendo's star developer Shigeru Miyamoto showed during a conversation behind closed doors that he is working on a new Zelda game for Wii. "To be honest with you, I really wanted to announce a Zelda game for Wii at this E3. But rather than think about something to bring you to show you, we really wanted to focus on actual game development,"
* And another good news for fans of Professor Layton. The second part, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box is also coming to the West.
Sony Press Conference
* Sony also held its press conference today. Sony comes with a motion controller. The controller is still under development and Sony hopes to start in early 2010 along with the market. The controller looks like a remote control and a light bulb at the tip. These controllers are provided by the PlayStation Eye, which movements can be very accurately recorded. Examples of possible applications that were shown include archery, sword fighting and painting. A video is shown below.
* Other big news: Sony announced Final Fantasy XIV during its press conference. The latest will be an online game. It is not known whether part fourteen will follow the same way as Final Fantasy XI, but an MMO is a possibility. Below you can view the trailer. The game is also announced for the PC now.

* Sony has announced ModNation Racers for the PlayStation 3, accessible racing game where you can create your own routes. Sony describe the game itself as a LittleBigPlanet-style game, where players race fields and with one another. A walkthrough video where it shows someone creating a racemap is shown below.
* Rockstar North brings Agent exclusively to the PlayStation 3. More than a logo of the game were not shown. The only thing known is that Agent is a tactical action game that is situated at the end of the seventies and it will follow the same path as GTA.
* Trico, the third game of Team Ico has been given a new name: The Last Guardian. During the press conference a trailer was shown, which is also shown below, that showed great similarities with the previously leaked trailer for the game, but also new things were shown

* Of course there were also some new PSP games announced. One of them is LittleBigPlanet, the sister of the PS3 game which will go to the PSP. Resident Evil is also a move to the handheld. The PSN game Fat Princess makes its appearance on the handheld. A Gran Turismo game will also be released on the PSP on October 1 this year. The release of the game will coincide with that of the PSP Go!, the new PSP model. Talking about the PSP Go!, the handheld will be released on October 1 this year and will cost around 249 dollars.
* Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will come somewhere in 2010 for the PSP. Peace Walker is the sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and let you play again with the Big Boss, aka Naked Snake. It is now certain that Metal Gear Solid: Rising, that was announced yesterday for the Xbox 360, will come to the PlayStation 3 and is now a multiplatform game. Also Lost Planet 2 is coming to the PS3.
* It is also good to hear that God of War 3 will appear in March 2010 in the shops. The developers strive for a 1080p display. A gameplay demostration, that was shown during the Sony conference, is shown below.
