In anticipation of the launch of Modern Warfare 2 November 10th, Activision, along with GameStop and Microsoft, hosted a major first-to-play event in New York City's Union Square where hundreds of fans gathered to be among the first-to-play the game before its midnight release and witness a grudge match for the ages, as Philadelphia Phillies star pitcher Cole Hamels guided a Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer team against a squad led by New York Yankees CC Sabathia and Jerry Hairston.  Yes, professional players need their gaming time too.

 

Several celebrity guests along with entertainment and gaming industry VIPs were on-hand to play the game and enjoy music by DJ Jazzy Jeff and DJ Questlove.
