Activision has held the crown for First-Person Shooters the last 3-4 years. Now, EA might just have a plan to take back the throne that it once held during the times of Medal of Honor Heroes, Rising Sun, and Airborne.
In 2010, EA has two HUGE First-Person Shooters scheduled for release. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is set for a March 2, 2010 release, while a modern Medal of Honor is set for a Fall 2010 release.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a big sequel to the once popular original Bad Company. It brings terrific graphics, customizable weapon sets, fully destructible environments, and more improvements over its first game of the series. Bad Company 2 is set to bring an extensive campaign, along with a great multiplayer.
EA also has recently announced a new, modern Medal of Honor. Not many details are known, other than that there is Nightvision, sprinting, a knife melee attack, and vehicles. Medal of Honor was once easily the greatest First-Person Shooter series known to the gaming world, before Call of Duty took over starting with Call of Duty 2, through now, in which Modern Warfare 2 set many records for sales. EA believes that this new Medal of Honor can bring EA the crown, and put Medal of Honor back on top.
Treyarch will have tough competition this year, as they will be creating "Call of Duty 7" in most likely November of this year. They would have to create a huge success of a game to build a better game than what EA is creating.
